About Us

The comprehensive counseling and support your family needs.

Our mission is to help youth and their families find hope, healing, and purpose beyond their trauma.

As a family service agency, we provide the connection and expertise to help meet the emotional and social challenges of struggling families regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Story

So much of OnPurpose history is tied to the story of its founder Renae Johnson. Renae was inspired by overcoming the challenges of inequality, domestic violence, sexual assault, and long-term poverty. A success story of the Job Training Partnership Act of 1982, the Kiwanis Builder’s Club, NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympic (ACT-SO) and Baptist and Educational Missionary Convention programs, Renae is driven to bring even greater success and opportunity to struggling families.

Renae has over 20 years of experience in mental health and community development.  Her experience ranges from working in schools, residential treatment and psychiatric care facilities to developing and soliciting funding for multi-million-dollar health and human service programs.

Her leadership is essential to supporting the healing of trauma. Specifically, associated with the adverse effects of racial disrimination and poverty.
